About the Journal

JOEEL (Journal of English Education and Literature) is an open-access, double-blind, peer-reviewed academic journal. It publishes high-quality research articles and conceptual papers in English-language studies, English-language teaching, and literature. The journal serves as a platform for researchers, educators, and practitioners to share innovative ideas, empirical findings, and theoretical discussions. Its aim is to advance English studies in local and global contexts.

JOEEL is published twice a year, in March and September. It is issued by the English Language Education Study Program of Universitas Katolik Santo Agustinus Hippo, Indonesia. Since Volume 4, Number 1 (2023), the journal has been accredited at SINTA 3. This accreditation reflects its recognized quality and contribution to national academic scholarship. From Volume 6, Number 2 (2025), JOEEL has been published on a new website. This marks an important milestone in its development. Previously, the journal was hosted at https://journal.stkippamanetalino.ac.id/index.php/bahasa-inggris. This transition shows the journal’s growth and its commitment to better accessibility, sustainability, and the dissemination of scholarly work.

The scopes of JOEEL include the following main fields:

  1. language teaching or learning;
  2. literature related to language studies or learning;
  3. language studies on language learning;
  4. other relevant fields
